Same-Day & Urgent Plumbing in Prairie Village, KS

Some plumbing problems can’t wait for next week. Here’s what to do in the first few minutes, and how to reach us. We’re a local plumbing company at 3520 W 75th St in Prairie Village, open 7 AM–8 PM, seven days a week. Call (913) 305-5013 during those hours and we’ll tell you when we can get there.

Do this first

Water leaking or a pipe burst

  1. Shut off the main water valve. It’s usually near where the water line enters the house. Find yours before you need it.
  2. Turn off electricity to any wet area at the breaker if you can do it safely.
  3. Open a faucet on the lowest level to drain pressure from the pipes.
  4. Move valuables out of the way and call us.

Water heater leaking

  1. Close the cold-water valve at the top of the heater.
  2. Turn off the power (electric) or set the gas control to off or pilot.
  3. See water heater repair.

Sewage backing up

  1. Stop running water: no flushing, laundry, dishwasher or showers.
  2. Keep people and pets away from the water.
  3. Call us. Johnson County Wastewater’s backup line (913-715-8600) can also check whether the problem is in the public sewer.

Smell gas

  1. Leave the house. Don’t touch light switches or start a car in the garage.
  2. Call Kansas Gas Service or 911 from outside.

Same-Day & Urgent Plumbing: common questions

What are your hours for urgent calls?

We're open 7 AM to 8 PM, every day of the week. If water is actively leaking, shut off your main water valve first, then call (913) 305-5013.

I smell gas. Should I call a plumber?

Not first. Leave the house without switching anything on or off, and call Kansas Gas Service or 911 from outside.

Sewage is coming up through my basement floor drain. Who do I call?

Stop using water in the house. A plumber can diagnose a blockage in your line. Johnson County Wastewater also takes sewer backup calls at 913-715-8600 and says a backup in the main drain, or in several fixtures at once, may be a sewer backup.

Does emergency work still need a permit?

In Prairie Village, when equipment has to be replaced in an emergency, the permit application is due to the building official within the next working business day.
